Transportation Companies:

In effort to continue streamlining the public passenger endorsement process we are making some changes to the process and hope the following changes will eliminate a week off the current processing time.

Effective immediately, ALL public passenger endorsement applications (S, V, A and F) must now be mailed or dropped off directly to the main office in Wethersfield. By reducing the amount of times passenger endorsement applicants have to appear at a branch office we are hoping it will assist in reducing some of the branch traffic and eliminate a week off the processing time.

With this change, applicants applying for “S”, “V” and “A” endorsements are required to send their background checks directly to Department of Children and Families. This will help to reduce the amount of time involved in waiting for checks to be returned from their agency. It is very important that these checks are sent directly to DCF; failure to do so will delay the processing of the application.

Attached is a copy of the new public passenger endorsement application packet (R7, DCF-3031 & Noncriminal Justice Applicant’s Privacy Rights) outlining the new procedure for applicants. There is a drop box located in the first floor of the Wethersfield branch office for those applicants who would like to hand deliver their applications. Those school bus companies who were previously participating in the pilot program please continue to operate as you have in the past with the only new changes being sending the DCF check directly to DCF and a revised transmittal (attached).
